As He sent Titus to the Apostle Paul to love, encourage and comfort him, He will send you to others that He might help them to "make it through the night" by knowing His love and friendship. You will be His love-gift to them, and they will be enabled to receive the love bestowed upon them. So many people are yet hiding behind the trees of the garden, afraid of God and man, certain that no one loves or cares for their soul; guilty and ashamed of what they see themselves to be; wearing a mask and playing their roles reconciled to a life of loneliness without love. Jesus loves them and longs to search them out through you, and bring them out of their prison into the life and liberty of His presence and love. We cannot carry only the theology of love to those who perish in their loneliness, and expect them to be impressed. We must also touch their hearts with Jesus' love and demonstrate in deed, as God did for us, the reality of this eternal love. Someone in whom Jesus dwells must come where they are and love them with real love as they are; become their friend to whom they can reveal themselves fully without fear or shame, that they might learn that it is Jesus Who has found them, Jesus Who knows them, and Jesus Who loves them.
